Had a great experience with Ouray Mountain Adventures! Checkin is at the Twin Peaks hotel office. We reserved online (which is a bit cheaper) so they had all our info and just needed drivers license when we arrived. Was quickly set up with a clean rental jeep and were on our way. Saw other reviews mention the low tire pressure, but that is normal when going off-roading, you don’t want them full on the rough roads.
Still early in the year, so many passes were not open yet, as the worker said, but we still had fun driving what we could! Million dollar highway, corkscrew pass through red mountains, some of Yankee Boy Basin. Checked out some of the waterfalls around Ouray.

Returned that afternoon and a different worker was also very friendly and considerate.

Later got to our Airbnb an hour away, and realized I’d left our action camera in the door pocket of the jeep. Called them and Allison was very friendly and understanding, and quickly got ahold of the customers that rented the jeep out already. They said they’d bring the camera to the office the next morning. Shoutout to them for being honest and willing to bring it back! We called that morning and showed up to retrieve our camera, and Kate was working that day and also very friendly and understanding. The workers were so great to us even though we made the mistake! The jeep was great too and we had fun! Thanks so much!

Initially I was excited because they had newer vehicles and great pricing, online reservation was very easy. I travel a lot and rent vehicles a lot. The customer service here is by far the worst. My story is too long to post on a review but I’ve been dealing with the issue for 4 months now. Thankfully my bank understands there are corrupt rental places like this. If you had a good experience you got lucky.

We had a great time! We rented a side by side and went on both trails/passes. They gave us a map and suggested which trail to do first and some stops along the way. The views were amazing. We were worried at first with some of the reviews but I’m glad we decided to ignore them and go ahead and rent from them anyway. Zero issues and will rent from them again when we visit the area.

This was our first time renting a jeep and going off roading. My only wish is that they would have walked around the jeep and given some pointers. The jeep we got was a newer Rubicon with just over 2000 miles on it. I went back in because the sway bar light was flashing and the low tire pressure sensor was on. Manager said he hadn't disconnected sway bar sensor and he preferred to run tires slightly below recommended pressure. They looked fine to me so we went with it... Since we picked it up at 6p the mgr recommended we do Yankee Boy Basin right then, so we did. Very little traffic and gave me an opportunity to get used to easier off-road driving. The next day we rode all day and had a blast. Returning the jeep was easy. Lady behind the counter made a quick walk around and said I was good to go.
I should note that we were in this office b/c they handled our condo reservation. We asked about the jeep rental and were told what was available and to reserve it online and we would save 20%. I did it from my phone in a couple of minutes.

During our visit in July, we rented a Jeep Rubicon from Ouray Mountain Adventures. When we picked up the Rubicon there was a light flashing on the dash indicating locker malfunction. We returned to the rental place to ask about the light. We were told by the employee at the desk that they knew the light was on and it did not affect the function of the Jeep. We specifically asked if the lockers would work and were told they would. After taking the Jeep to the trails, we confirmed that the lockers were not working. When we returned the Jeep the next day, we were greeted by the owner, Ryan. When asked about the lockers, he stated that he knew the lockers did not work because they had been disabled. He stated they were disabled on all the Rubicons he rents. Advertising a Jeep as a Rubicon, and disabling the lockers is false advertisement. When we told him, we had specifically asked about this, he stated that was not his problem and he could not control what the employee told us.After implying we were lying, he then offered us a $25 refund. We told him we were unsatisfied with our experience and would choose another rental place in the future. He was unconcerned with our experience and said “that’s fine” and walked off. He did not issue the refund and I had to call and request it again to get him to issue the refund.

Due to the ratings, I was skeptical of this Company. It actually was not my first choice, but my first choice didn't have any jeeps left that I was looking for. Even though they were very competitive on their pricing with others and also gave a 20% discount by reserving online, I still was a bit nervous.

They only had one jeep left that I was looking for, so I bit the bullet and reserved for a 20% savings! (Easy breezy website interaction with all information needed.)

Upon arrival, jeeps were clean (as can be), nice condition, and Rubicon's with a lift kit and good off-roading tires! The lady at the desk was very nice, check in was easy and they let you mark the condition of the vehicle on a damage sheet before leaving.
Free popcorn, coffee, and cappuccino are complimentary! Wow!

Jeeps are sold and new ones purchased every season!

We reserved for two days......and then came back for a third day! Treat the rental with care, bring back clean, be nice and you will have a great experience! We had no issues at all with them or the jeep....we were even late bringing it back, and they didn't even charge us additional!

I am sure the bad ratings are from abusive renters that had to pay for it....
Overall, a 5 star experience from us! We will be back!

When we picked it up, the Jeep had very low pressure in all four tires (normal for off roading) and the oil life was at “0%” (more questionable). That being said it was a great vehicle and did not struggle once on any road we went on. Rental and return process went smoothly, but it would have been good to know that we needed to wash it before returning.

We rented a 4 door Rubicon and had a wonderful experience. Whoever had the Jeep before us had not washed it so I had to wait on the staff to wash it but that didn’t take too long. My only problem was that it wasn’t full of fuel and I assumed it was and didn’t check it until we got on our first trail and the gas light came on. I brought it back with the same amount of gas it had in it when I left and told them about the lack of gas it had to start the day and they were fine with it. Overall I would say it was a very good rental experience and would recommend them to anyone.
