The setting in Quietwater cove on Pensacola Beach, next to a very nice restaurant is outstanding. The parking was directly accessible and very nicely next to the site...so no long walking or poor parking. The rates were very reasonable, in fact, a great deal compared to other vendors in the gulf coast area. I windsurfed with a Kona full size board and 8.3M sail. The equipment was in super shape, and the crystal clear water was very nice to windsurf on the leeward side of the island. I have a professional history in windsurf racing nationally dating back to the late 1980's - present, so I am well informed to what quality equipment, location, and instruction looks like...and this is definitely it. For my partner, it was her very first time being on a SUP, and she had a blast. The business owner was very nice, obviously has seasoned experience and professional instruction. We both are returning patrons and are looking forward to a great summer going to Outdoor Gulf Coast's adventure experiences again and again.

Shawn is a great windsurfing teacher and very patient. He stayed observant and involved throughout the entire time he was teaching. If want to learn to windsurf I highly recommend that you work with Shawn at Outdoor Gulf Coast.

We were in the Pensacola area for a week and needed a tandem kayak for some fishing and going out with the kids. Shawn was great to work with via email and we had everything arranged in advance. Delivery was on time and no-fuss. One of the days the kayak was needed for a large group outing so Shawn let us use a Paddle Board for the day which all of us had fun with. Definitely recommended and would gladly rent from Gulf Coast again.

I booked wind surfing lessons with Shawn for two of my kids and he definitely went above and beyond! It was a fairly last minute booking, we had initially booked for three and one backed out he had no issues. With the land training he was thorough without being overwhelming. It was pretty windy, and the water was kind of choppy, so once they got on the water they fell quite a bit, but he was very patient and gave them both more than enough time! Even with the tough weather and water they finally got the hang of it but had a great time from start to finish! We look forward to booking with Shawn again and maybe my husband and I will try it next time! He was AWESOME!

My daughter and I rented a paddleboard from Shawn and could not have had a better experience. He was so friendly and nice; brought the board straight to our condo and gave us a mini-lesson. We greatly enjoyed the board for a few days and he picked it up at the end of our day. GREAT company and I would highly recommend you give them a call anytime you need equipment in the Pensacola area! Enjoy!

I took a paddleboard lesson with Shawn at Texar Bayou. He and his wife were very helpful and gave detailed and precise instructions. They proceeded to accompany me around the bayou whilst giving me tips to make me more comfortable and become at ease with the activity. They were both very patient and I greatly appreciated their assistance. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a first paddle board experience.
