Gussie’s Lodge sleeps 20 very nicely, particularly if some of them are children as one bedroom is a bunk at sleeps 8.

The view of the lake is so pretty, And we were so surprised to walk in to see a Christmas tree in the living room.

Con’s: mattresses could be better; could stand a fresh coat of paint and a few updates.
Pros: size is great. Plenty of living and sleeping space for our family. Kitchen is the best outfitted kitchen in any rental we have ever had.

My extended family and I have loved going to stay at the Pine Mountain Chalets for over 40 years!!! We went for the first time when I was 12 an now I'm 53 (!). We have stayed in many different chalets over the years and they are all a little different, but keeping in the cozy, welcoming, relaxing vibe. We love walking around the lake, seeing the Christmas lights on the bridge and gazebo. The kids play kickball and football on the playing field. There have been countless games of ping pong in the rec room. It is set in a beautiful, natural area and is right near Calloway Gardens if you plan to visit there. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend as a get away any time of year.

Jessica, the wedding coordinator, is such a great lady. Calm and collective. Helped plan the wedding when a former employee quit. She was so much help in the planning process as well as the day of. During the day of she was like a second maiden of honor keeping the day going smooth and had everything time out perfectly. The Pine Mountain Club Chalets is the perfect place for a truly ALL INCLUSIVE WEDDING package. They help plan and have wedding planers, catering, photography, and DJ all set up and ready for your big day. The only thing you have to get for your wedding is hair and makeup. Great place! Highly recommend.

I enjoy staying at the Pine Mountain Chalets. It's a safe and beautiful place for my kids, myself, and dog.

The chalets are like little cabins. Wooden on the inside with lots of natural lighting. They have an older feel, but are updated with modern floors, appliances, and decor.

Also, the resort has fishing, trails, swimming pool, tennis, ping pong, pool table, horseshoe, basketball, and a playground. We enjoy walking around the lake the most.

It's a popular wedding venue as well.

The Chalets are always a great place to stay when we visit Callaway gardens. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. We love the grounds and rec areas where our kids can play and explore. It’s so nice that we are able to check out equipment to use so that we don’t have to bring our own. Jennifer at the front desk was super friendly and very helpful with our day trip to the city of Pine Mountain. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Our adult children, grandchildren and my husband I and just spent our 2nd Thanksgiving at this wonderful place. Such special memories over the years for us. We hope to make this an annual trip. Our favorite thing was just hanging around the fireplace and sharing wonderful family memories. Lots of room with the nice screened in porch where we could watch the lake.
Just made this mama's heart very happy.

Stunning Venue, But Major Disorganization and Poor Maintenance

I initially wrote a much kinder review, but after ongoing issues with management, I feel it's necessary to share the full truth about this venue. I had the platinum package, and unfortunately, the experience did not match the high cost.

The venue itself is beautiful, but the overall experience was riddled with problems that made our day far more stressful than it should have been.

To begin with, my original coordinator quit sa few months before my wedding, and I only found out through a friend—not from the venue. This lack of communication was incredibly frustrating. The replacement coordinator was new and inexperienced, which only added to the problems. My flowers were completely wrong—both in color, type, and shape. Despite discussing the arrangements in detail, the final result was nothing like what we had requested.

The coordinator also made several mistakes, such as handing out corsages and boutonnieres to the wrong guests, ignoring our decoration setup requests, and failing to follow the event timeline. As a result, the event felt disjointed and chaotic. My photographer even had to step in to help coordinate things, which was frustrating and absolutely not her role.

In addition, the chalet we were assigned was in poor condition. It was dirty, with dust and grime on the floors—my bridesmaids’ feet were black from walking on the floor. To make matters worse, the overhead light and ceiling fan didn’t work. My mother even had to clean the windows and remove cobwebs from the ceiling, which is completely unacceptable for a venue charging this amount.

The venue’s maintenance overall was lacking. There were dead and live bugs in the valances, mismatched or non-working lights, and trash in the bushes outside. The windows were dirty, which took away from the overall beauty of the venue.

For the price we paid, these issues were unacceptable. My advice would be to opt for a more affordable package and hire your own vendors. The venue is beautiful, but the lack of communication, poor maintenance, and disorganization made our day much more stressful than it should have been.

Great getaway within 30 minutes of Columbus, GA!
Jennifer, at check-in/out, was a delightful person.
Our cabin was clean and well maintained.
We had no issues at all.
And, as for the reviews that you may see about bugs/insects, get real folks! This place is nestled away in the woods by a lake(a beautiful one at that). So, yes, you are probably going to come in contact with some, living or dead.
They were not a nuisance, at all.
We really enjoyed the salt water pool, too. Seeing as we stayed here after school started back, we were able to enjoy it all to ourselves.
We are definitely going to return. I can't wait! Looking forward to being able to do some fishing next time around.
Well worth the money!
Oh, and there's lots of great places to eat and shop around the area, too.
