Good place for fishing and waterfall hunting. Ramp need improvements and they don’t have a floating dock. A lot of people traffic no matter the day but weekends you better go without hurry. Nice sunsets and some sand banks to chill with the family. Medium to small size parking lot and a small in and out gravel road so if you are new in the area watch out with the one vehicle pass bridge, speeding is not a option.

It's a nice preserve and they offer a number of programs for public. Informed, friendly staff. The nature hike was disappointing. Leader seemed inexperienced at leading groups. She didn't make much effort to include everyone when she talked to group. I couldn't hear much of what she said. We weren't prepared for the length and ruggedness of trail and found it difficult. Birds weren't cooperative and we didn't see many. This last point wasn't fault of staff. Birds are unpredictable. I like their efforts to reach out to public and I assume some problems will get worked out in time.

The water is a bit high now, but still great to visit. Good time to put your boat in. The grounds are cleaned up and people are camping. Very nice, place to hang out.

This is my favorite kayaking spot. The wildlife refuge on the south side of lake Odessa is massive. You can paddle for hours--just be careful not to get lost, since it's fairly isolated. Toughest thing is finding a place to set your boats in. Try the 75th street access point.
