My husband and I stayed at the Postcard Cabins at Talladega Valley to celebrate our anniversary, and it was the perfect blend of peaceful and romantic. The cabin offered us a chance to truly disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with each other, which was exactly what we needed. The cozy space has everything you could want – just bring your clothes and some food, and you’re set! We especially loved sitting by the fire with a glass of wine, enjoying the calm surroundings and each other’s company. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and unwind in a beautiful, intimate setting!

You gotta check this place out. It was the perfect getaway for my wife and I. It had the peacefulness of camping but the luxury of a hotel. You could sit by the fire and then take a warm shower before getting into a cozy bed. The cabins are well stocked and have everything you need.

We have been to a few Getaway now Postcard Cabins and this is my first time I scored it low. Never had one complaint but this year we couldn't lock our door and was unable to enjoy the local sites. The point of picking this location is to go to the Caverns. We were looking forward to it but we did not want to leave the cabin unlocked for that amount of time. We reported it and they were not able to fix it until later in the afternoon so we had to miss it. I felt a little bit slighted and
aside from apologizing no one even offered a discount to our next stay. We could not even go on the trail for too long. We upgraded to the extra outdoor space w a hammock which was nice but I felt it was less privacy and not as tucked away as the others.

Getaway was a great experience! Although we never saw staff, they were easy to message and quick to respond. We stayed for two nights to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and enjoyed the convenience of utensils, sugar, salt, pepper, dishware, linens, a/c, wifi at night, and more alongside the quiet nature and feeling of seclusion. The nature walk on property was also awesome to explore. This Talladega Valley location was well thought out, easy to travel to, and close to modernities for those who may need it although we decided to stay put and cook once we arrived. The only thing I would change is a few more complimentary provisions included in the cabin stay since you currently have to pay for each tea bag, coffee pouch, and/or insect wipe you use.

The first experience was good enough for us decided to book again. Unfortunately the second experience let me know never to book again. My partner and I were in a car accident and had to be hospitalized a few days before our trip. I contacted Getaway as soon as possible. The decision was they would uphold the policy of not allowing us to reschedule due not being in the 72 hour window. While I understand policy I also understand that some things can’t be helped. I guess I can’t expect that from anything else.

Would go again! Great place to reconnect with each other or yourself.
Overall a lovely experience. Cabins are clever and beautifully designed, thoughtful touches, well equipped, with considerate amenities whilst maintaining the minimalistic vibe of the tiny house.

We had a cabin with tree view and it was really wonderful. Also feels secluded yet safe. Could not hear and hardly see direct neighbors through the trees; we had plenty of privacy.
Plenty of spaces to walk/wander or play around.

We strongly recommend!

This 3 days spent at getaway is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I had a couple of minor issues when I arrived but the customer service was amazing. I had everything I needed and really enjoyed my outdoor time with the fire pit. I wasn't sure if I could tolerate 3 days alone but it was so wonderful I can't wait to do it again!

I have my reasons for 3 stars, I really hate that I have to rate so low but the ads, social media, and website really ruined our expectations. The photo attached is the “river view” cabin we paid extra for. The cabin we were given was named the Lydia. This is NOTHING like the website, only 1 cabin of the 3 river cabins have that “perfect” view of the river. That cabin is the Makilo by the way, so if you book a river view and it’s not that one, here’s your view. Also, I think my partner and I can take partial blame for not researching burn bans, but it would’ve been nice if Getaway informed us prior to arrival and we would’ve accommodated to the change easier. The fridge smelled really bad and should be cleaned out. Also the cabins are VERY close and there’s not really a sense of privacy that you’d expect. Cell service is spotty which I can’t complain because I didn’t need my phone. It was super quiet, occasional dog barking but no complaints. Overall, I was really excited about this place and can’t believe how disappointed I was, especially when extra money was paid. I do like that the other reviewers had a great experience unlike my partner and I.
