Have gone out of my way to shop here since I moved to the area (30 min drive each way), since they don't sell online and keep things local, but won't be anymore.

Tried to buy some recently unbanned mtg cards. Got all the way to checkout and was told the price. It was about double what I was expecting, so I asked to see the app they use to price everything (TCGplayer). They were using TCGplayer median pricing. Due to the unbans the card prices were extremely volatile, and there were very few online listings, so the median was extremely inflated. When I explained this to the manager and asked for a better price, I was told no and was told that the app used 'market mid' prices (which isn't a thing). They were using median, which for the EMA printing was $80 at that particular moment in time, market price was about $35).

I bought the cards online for $35 each in their parking lot. In the time it took me to drive home, the median is already down to $42, which I would have paid to buy local. Please make sure your employees understand the price data they are using, and when it may be bad.

Edit since the owner responded:
Marketplace Mid is not a thing on the TCGplayer app. There is 'mid', which I am sure is what they are referring to, but that is an extremely confusing misnomer given that the app also provides 'market' price, which is different.
Second, there is literally a graph on the website that shows the price over time that refutes the 'price hasn't changed much' since the unban statement. A non-sale due to the fluctuating price would have been disappointing but acceptable. That is not what happened.

Great place, but I’ve overheard a specific staff member speaking negatively about customers to other customers on several occasions while I’ve been in the store. Creates an awkward, unwelcoming vibe for everyone involved.

A great place to be at, especially on Thursday evenings. That's when boardgame night is going on, and you can still shop while you're there.

This business has a lot of great games. There's something for everyone.

As a regular, weekly customer, I could not recommend the store enough. Friendly staff, new and constantly stocked product, clean and clutter free play area. Been attending for three years now, and I don't forsee myself stopping anytime soon.
UPDATE: Still my favorite store, still there almost weekly despite having a nearly hour drive there. Can't recommend them enough.
2024 UPDATE: I'm still a regular, and employees new and old are used to my shenanigans. My wife yells at me because I spend so much money there, but I care not.
10/10 best store in the area hands down.

WOW. I thought decent service was out of the question in 2024. Not at Realms of Gaming, above an beyond service. Willing to make deal that benefits everyone. Looking to buy cards? Go to Realms, chances are they will actually have it!!! If there was more than a 5, they would get it.

A great place to buy and trade cards. The staff is very friendly and and knowledgeable. They have a very large selection of singles and packs spanning from Pokemon, Magic, Digimon, and a few other niche card and board games. They also allow for casual play, with plenty of space.
