If you’re looking for the best way to experience Santa Cruz you have to reach out to Ride the Redwoods. I went out for a long weekend to ride and was blown away by the trails I got to ride with Darrin and Chris. It would have been a much different experience if I tried to solo it at the Demo forest and find my own way. Darrin’s knowledge of the area and the trails meant me and my friend got to hit all the best trails in the most efficient way possible. My friend needed a rental and Darrin was able to hook him up with a perfect setup at a local shop. I definitely plan on getting out to Santa Cruz again with a group and will absolutely be reaching out to Ride the Redwoods to set it up.

A big thank you to Darrin from "Ride The Redwoods", who went above and beyond to help arrange a Santa Cruz Mountain Biking weekend - a long awaited bucket list ride weekend for my friend and myself.

We were on a short business trip from Sydney Australia, with limited time to enjoy and work out the local trail network. So we asked for a 4-hour guided ride with Darrin.

Darrin went out of his way to pre-book discounted latest release Yeti mountain bikes from a local bike shop "Bicycle Trip," communicated the touch-and-go issue of potential trail closures with the typical January rainy season in Santa Cruz . He was great to hang out with, a good conversationalist, and all you need to know is we had TOP TRAILS and a TOP TIME!!!

As someone who picked up Mountain biking recently and have been learning by just going on rides with friends. The course taught by Ride the Redwoods/Darrin was exactly what I was looking for. Darrin took my input on where I wanted to take my skills towards and created a course and plan to build on fundamentals that can make all other skills and my overall riding experience improved.

Darrin was a great guide! I have never rode the trails in Santa Cruz and wasn’t really sure where to start with my level of experience(not much). Darrin was patient with me struggling through the uphill(a little hungover), and offered great tips throughout the ride. I will definitley hire Darrin again next time I head to Santa Cruz. I will also look into his coaching services to try to learn some proper technique that I know I am lacking.

I would highly recommend Ride the Redwoods. Darrin is a great instructor. I’ve been getting mountain bike lessons from Darrin and am very satisfied with what I’ve learned from him. Darrin not only provides lessons but he can also guide you through some trails.

Great customer service and coordination getting my ride set-up last minute. My ride was tailored perfectly to my skill level and my guide Ben was knowledgeable about the areas we rode through and gave me good advice to improve my riding. Will definitely book again when I am back in the Santa Cruz area!

A great guide is somebody who is not only knowledgable about the area and passionate about the activity, but also somebody who is interested in sharing that passion with his/her customers. Darrin went above and beyond in helping us prepare (connecting us with a bike rental) for and experience the beauty of the redwood trails.
