We did a nice 2 hour ride near Rock Creek Lake and got the experience of just being 3 of us (including our guide Penny!). What a wonderful experience as someone that has only ridden twice. Their animals are so well taken care of! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved our experience and our guide Penny! She is wonderful and has so much knowledge of the terrain, mules and horses. The ride was extremely beautiful! One of the best ways to experience the beautiful mountains CA has to offer!

After an 8-hour horseback ride through the trails around Rock Creek I can say this is the best way to experience the landscape. They prepare a lunch for you and there are different routes to take. If you're in the area during the summer months you should plan a day out with Rock Creek Pack Station and enjoy the backcountry with one of their well-versed guides.

Super fun time. Ivana was great and she took a picture of us. They did ended up taking a different trail than I selected over the phone but it was still an awesome time. Just make sure the guide knows where you want to go.

This place may come off as a little wierd at first with an unprofessional vibe and a grumpy owner but acutally the exact oppisiste. After a bit the owner will warm up to you and you can really see how amazing thjs place is. The people that work there are super nice and the horses are buetiful. The trail is a little scary for beginners with very steep inclines and declines. Also dont be worried these horses know the trails better than anyone since thats thier lives. Also it hilarious that sometimes mid walking they will stop and eat some grass, its so funny. Overall the place is amazing and super fun.

Don’t think just run and book your trip with Rock Creek Pack station. I took my family including 6 year old son and 72 year old mother in law for the parent and child trip. The whole experience was flawless - from checking in and being served French toast while our gear was loaded to checking out with cold lemonade. Tristan and Tyler were not only super helpful and knowledgeable but also just really cool to talk with and hear their stories and experiences. Tristan treated my son like a little cowboy prince! KK made the most amazing meals and even my kiddo loved her breakfast burrito - which says a lot as he’s so picky. Wes helped my mother in law walk on the trail when she was in pain riding and couldn’t have been kinder about it. The ride in and out to the camp location was beautiful in itself and the day ride to another lake was even more amazing. We all had no experience on a horse. The crew and horses are so experienced and made it all less scary and intimidating. My son (and me) are already wondering when we can go again. Thank you Rock Creek Pack Station
