If you are looking for something to do with your family on the beach at South Padre Island, I would highly recommend booking a sand castle lesson with Andy Hancock. My wife and I along with our 3 sons and daughter (ages 22, 20, 16 and 14) had the pleasure of learning how to build a huge sand castle from Andy. Andy’s ability to make the lesson highly educational, highly entertaining, and highly engaging made this experience one that our family will never forget. We have been to South Padre Island many times over the last 20 years and this was the best time that we have had there.

Fabulous day on the beach worth every penny! Andy is a gem and the lesson was a bit science, bit math, and art… all fun. Something for everyone, even the non-artistic and moody teenagers, and short attention span 5 & 6 year olds.

We’ve seen Andy’s sandcastles for years on our trips to SPI and have always wanted to have him do a lesson with our kiddos….we thought this trip was going to be the one but sadly the weather didn’t work cooperate for us. Andy was so kind and understanding to our circumstances. We are sad we didn’t get to do our lesson but we’ve saved him number and will be booking a lesson the next time we visit South Padre!

We had a great time learning all of the techniques to build sandcastles. He is very talented and provides a fun time while you are learning. We also got to bring home a kit for future use. Our 10 year Ola’s as well as our two teenagers really enjoyed this and are looking heard to our future visits to the beach.

Andy was an absolute joy! We had to reschedule a few times due to our family’s schedule and he graciously did his best to accommodate us. Our children are 8, 6, 4 & 3 and they had a blast!!! It was so sweet seeing the techniques Andy taught being them used on their own castles. Definitely recommend Andy for your SPI trip 😊

Do this the first day or two because then you’ll have the skills to build the rest of your time on the island. This isn’t your sand castle building by filling a bucket and turning it upside down. This is legit! Andy educates you and entertains you all at the same time. Hands down a great experience! I would do it again and have already told friends if they visit SPI, they HAVE to book with Andy!
