It's a hidden little gem, minus 1 star because a porta potty would have been nice ? couple of trash cans, clean, could use another picnic table. We got there a little after 9am Sunday and left about 1, no one else came or went that we saw. Perfect kayak or small boat launch. It looks like you are turning into someone's driveway in a subdivision, but trust gps, it's back there.

We were surprised the water was so deep. We turned left and went up towards I65, figured it would be pretty quiet, and it was. The folks that we saw outside that live along the creek were very friendly. Nice easy peaceful paddle. There was a rope swing that appeared to be on public land across the creek ‍♀️ we tried it out, water was plenty deep, next time will take a bag to pick up the trash from over there.

If you go right from this launch it widens out a bit and there is Steel creek boat launch further down.

Next time we'll pack a lunch and probably do a whole day.

Well maintained boat/kayak/ raft/ canoe launch on Gunnison Creek. You have to drive through a residential area to get here, very well hidden. Looks like an excellent fishing spot, plenty of parking & three picnic tables. Pretty clean, wish they had some current info up in the boards by the pier. Open from dawn to dusk. Clean. Long grasses by the launch is matted down, so you can see where the alligators like to hang out. I was here early on a weekend, nobody here but me & the dog. Total opposite of the boat launch at Steel Creek in Satsuma, which was getting pretty crowded last time I went on a weekend, so this is a great alternative.
