My wife and I were in town for Car Week and decided to book a sunset cruise. Booking was a breeze (pun intended) and Kevin was fantastic both on the cruise and leading up to it. As for the cruise itself, the whales were active (unexpected surprise) and we had a couple come relatively close to the boat. Then we turned into the horizon and watched a beautiful sunset. We would highly recommend Shearwater Sailing.

My husband booked us a 2 hour sunset cruise and this was by far one of the most beautiful experiences. The sail boat was clean, well maintained and made us feel comfortable from beginning to end. Kevin was able to take us right up to the whales that were out (a mama and a calf) and to watch the sea lions cluster for feeding, plus so much more. Thank you Kevin for making it all the more memorable with your excellent service, the knowledge you shared and passion for sailing. You and Chris took our experience to the next level. A fantastic 5-Star day! Kevin allowed any of us to help sail. In addition to being a fabulous and accomplished sailer, Kevin is incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife from birds to whales, the ocean and the Monterey area that we saw from a distance. If you are considering going, make sure to reserve early!!

Captain Kevin was prompt, personable, accommodating, and professional. His knowledge of the surroundings, his boat, and sailing in general, was astounding. He let be as hands on, or off, as much as we wanted, and seemed to enjoy answering all our questions. It was quite fun to be at the helm. We even got to fly our sails wing and wing for a bit. Very comfortable boat.
We highly recommend sailing with Kevin.

We had a great time sailing with Kevin assisted by Sherry as crew who were both excellent and knowledgeable. Kevin showed his passion for sailing as well as empathy for my wife when she wasn't feeling well. Sherry demonstrated how a good crew person should be. Definitely would recommend chartering with them.

Captain Kevin was super responsive as our family scrambled to find a sailing tour in Monterey Bay after our previous cruise was unfortunately cancelled.
Kevin is an incredibly accomplished sailor with a wealth of knowledge about the region and the local fauna.
You are in good hands!
Capt Kevin was present, yet non-obtrusive. He was welcoming and provided opportunities to helm the wheel, and more if interested in being a part of the art of sailing.
We had an amazing time and I wholeheartedly recommend Shearwater Sailing to anyone considering an adventure on Monterey Bay.

This adventure with Kevin was an absolute blast. The boat is gorgeous, Kevin was extremely knowledgeable, and made the experience a dream come true. I’ve been wanting to go sailing since I was a kid and Kevin made it possible. He let me man the helm, steer the ship, and began the lessons of sailing. Just as I thought things couldn’t get better he navigated us within 50 feet of two Humpback Whales that breached multiple times as they and the rest of the wild life fed on the plentiful fish. This journey was as incredible and comparable to a National Geographic adventure. If you’re looking for an unforgettable time, with unforgettable memories, AND at a great price, then I highly recommend booking a sailing adventure with Kevin. It will be an experience you’ll never forget.
