Do not get overexcited of their wise marketing move - adding "By Windham" in their name. Not sure if this 100% cheap-motel-looking place adds to the prestige of the Whindham empire, I will let them be the judge. But let's just call it for what it is - the cheap est looking motel in town. One important plus is their beds are great and rooms are relatively clean. The rest - you may find more value in nearby similar hotels/motels with better curb appeal, and some additional perks i.e. swimming pool. The "breakfast included" is another joke as you get a couple of fruits with basic coffee , not a breakfast that makes them $20 above the price range of similar places. The staff was relatively nice but nothing special. Sorry if i have been too direct about my experiences. Nothing of the fault of the people who work there.

Nice hotel for price range. Everything looked fairly new. Comfortable bed, no carpet, good shower, window opened all the way and had a new screen. Good sized mini fridge and microwave. AC worked great. It was actually pretty quiet after about 9 pm.

The only downside was that the room seemed kind of stuffy without the AC on.
I don’t like AC when I’m sleeping.. kind of a shame given the perfect climate outside. This hotel is great otherwise, and it would be good for people who don’t mind sleeping with the AC on and the window closed.

We rented a King size room with a jetted jacuzzi tub in it. The room was clean and the jacuzzi tub big enough for two was a great way to relax after driving all day and it worked well. When we decided to watch TV we found that our TV was not hooked up. That was annoying, there was a towel hook on the wall in the bathroom that was barely hanging on the wall, so we could not use it. The reason I picked this motel to reserve a room, was because there were reviews that boasted about the pillowtop mattresses. Our room had a mattress that was hard, I barely slept last night, got maybe 3 hours of sleep. Plus I like a dark room, shutters on the windows look nice, but they let a lot of light into the room. All night long we had traffic noise. For the most part it was not a pleasant experience. We will not be going there again. I should also mention that the towels were very thin and small. The bedspread and our top sheet both had holes in it.

Excellent Stay at Super 8 OceansideSuper 8 in Oceanside is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the area. The staff is always friendly and helpful, especially Sanjay and his family, who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Sanjay is one of the most personable managers around, and his dedication really makes a difference.The rooms have been recently renovated and are kept very clean, with thoughtful decor and comfortable beds. Housekeepers do a great job maintaining a fresh, pleasant environment, treating everyone with respect and kindness. They are efficient and never judgmental, which makes staying here feel like a real treat.Location is another big plus—it's very close to the beach, local restaurants, and shops, making it easy to get around on foot. Parking is convenient and the hotel has some of the best rates in Oceanside, offering great value for the experience. Every stay has been positive, and for the price, quality, and service, this is always my top pick in the area

My bf and I have stayed in ~5 hotels in the area, and the Super 8 is by FAR our favorite. It is somehow one of the cheapest options, yet so so much nicer, cleaner, and all around better than the other cheaper options.

The two BEST features of this hotel are: their security deposit policy & the early check-in/late check-out options:

1. Security deposit: most of the other hotels in the area require a security deposit of $150.00 (ridiculously high) via card only, which is SO inconvenient when money is tight and you can't afford to wait 3-5 business days to get it back.

Super 8 requires a security deposit of $50.00 (for the basic, cheapest room option, which is still nice as hell) and you can pay that with cash or card.

I always use cash, and whenever we're ready to checkout I just: walk up to reception, let them know we're checking out, then they check the room really fast, and hand us back the $50.00 (as long as nothing in the room is broken/stained/missing/etc).

2. Late check-out: the option for a late check-out is a GAME CHANGER. Normal check-out time is 11:00 am, but you can REQUEST a late check-out of either 1:00 pm for a $20.00 fee or 3:00 pm for a $40.00 fee (and the fee gets taken out of your security deposit, so you don't have to make another payment). Of course they have to approve it, but I haven't had any issues so far.**

Besides the points mentioned above, the staff at this hotel have always been professional, polite, and kind to my boyfriend and I. The rooms are clean and very nice, and the location is great.

I could not recommend this hotel enough, especially if you don't have a lot of money to spend but still want to stay in a nice, clean, and respectable establishment.

P.S - they also have a guest laundry room that has two dryers and two washers. They take quarters and each machine costs $2.00 to run. Just an added bonus!

** - there is also an option for an early check-in. Normal check-in time is 3:00 pm and I think the early check-in time is 1:00 pm for a $20.00 fee, but I'm not entirely sure bc I've never used it before.

We had a great stay at this motel! The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, which made settling in super comfortable. The beds were surprisingly cozy—perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day. What really stood out was the staff: incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay with great service, this motel is a solid choice!

I was worried because the property is just off a busy street, but was able to sleep fine. This place is such a convenient location and reasonable cost, and the room was so large and clean- I will stay here again if I need place in Oceanside.
The only thing missing was a coffee maker in my room. The microwave worked, the small fridge kept my stuff cold.
The person who checked me in made me feel very welcome.
