We were a party of three: Two adults and an adventurous 8 year old who has loved the Polar Express since he was a toddler. We were here to to bring cheer to our holiday season in a year that could certainly use joy and a touch of magical thinking. This is truly an immersive experience. From the moment you enter the Union Station from the Jackson entrance and look into the iconic lobby with a stunning Christmas tree and the Polar Express installation, your imagination is engaged. The Burlington Room was packed with families in matching Christmas PJs, there was security and everyone was social distancing and especially so wearing their masks. The customer service was top notch- everyone was in on the secret that positive vibes are contagious and that being treated well just lifts everyone’s spirits to no end. I have to mention how comforting it was that there was plenty of security present throughout the space - it made for a much safer feeling for the boarding experience and overall sense of well oiled production.
Speaking of production let’s talk lighting and ambiance. The Burlington Room, the Polar Express Installation And the Boarding path to the trains (Polar Express Cars) is fully designed to be immersive. The show is essentially an interactive installation project within the Union station. A stroke of genius doing this show at this location. Bravo! Really. The sound quality in the tracks leading to the train tracks as well as on the train was really well executed. The performers were excellent in their training and professionalism as well as their ability to keep young children (i saw tiny 2 year olds on board who loved the show so much they didn’t want to leave!).
If you have a child in your life that you are thinking of bringing to this experience- it’s well worth it! And oh the Hot Chocolate and shortbread cookies were equally delicious.
We all got our first gifts of Christmas and Golden Tickets to bring home which we will add to our Christmas tree decorations as a keepsake for this heart filling journey. In a time where attending live theatre and music performances have been limited by the challenges of the pandemic, this was a much needed respite. Thank you- We’ll forever cherish this experience

This is our third time enjoying this magical event and by far the best. The actors were so friendly, energetic and thoroughly engaging. We had the most authentic and gentle Santa Claus. The kids were so excited when he appeared and he stopped to talk to each of them. The best part of Polar Express, is watching the excitement through the eyes of little ones. We went to a noon show and were in train car six near the front. Best time to go before the kids get too tired. It was well organized and they moved things along efficiently. If you love the movie and are looking for an experience that keeps kids engaged, this is the show for you! We will definitely be going back next year!

Our whole family had an amazing time on the Polar Express! It is definitely more geared toward younger kids, but even my teenage boys had a good time! It resembled the movie a lot. We went on Christmas Eve, and it made the experience even more magical. I would definitely recommend doing this at least once with your family. You won't be disappointed!

The train ride itself was super magical. We loved it very much, but…. After an amazing, magical ride, we went back to the polar express shop, and asked to return 4 out of the 8 light up necklaces we bought because they didn’t work at all, and we were met with a grouch that would make the grinch look like papa Smurf. She told me that I could grab 4 more necklaces and move on, she said not to open them, and that I couldn’t get a refund. I said I needed to open them to make sure they worked. I was very respectful opening them carefully as to not ruin the packaging, and she still got ignorant with me. She didn’t care there were kids hurt by their actions of cheating us with broken items. The least they could have done was make it right. That was too much to ask apparently. So they couldn’t care less about their reason they have a job. Kids… we spent well over $800 on this trip with 18 people. So I would steer clear of their overpriced store with generic toys. I’ve gotten stuff from the dollar tree that worked better. And the cashier was soooooo unprofessional. This should have been handled today. And she shouldn’t be working with the public. She told me off right in front of 3 of my Girl Scouts. At least I handled it the way I should have so that at least I could lead by example. Such a shame to have her ruin what was a magical day.

Absolute magic. I was so impressed by the actors. They involved kids from 1-13 seamlessly. They even encouraged adults to participate in the magic. What’s not to like? I was so thankful for yet another opportunity to grasp on to some holiday spirit with my kids. Thank you!

It's ok.... The performers do a great job.... However, with that being said, the seats are in a way that if you are more than a party of 2 it's hard to watch the other kiddos expressions that you are with. We have done the polar Express in French lick and it feels more like a destination you "go to" the North Pole with this one the windows are blacked out and you can't see anything and also the santa they have come out is very fake looking with a big fake beard that was an instant turn off for my kiddo. It is very pricey for what it is in my opinion.

My daughter truly enjoyed herself. She’s only 15 months but her reaction to the Train, Singers and Santa (hohoho) was priceless. So, Thank you!!!!!
