I really didn't know that Illinois had anything like this. It basically felt like I was in a different country. It wasn't expensive at all, and it was worth getting soaked. (You will get wet and your boat will fill with water.) The water is shallow enough to be able to stand up in, but deep enough to keep you going. I highly recommend this place, they really help you prepare and do all of the heavy lifting for you.

A fun day on the water!! We go every year and it's always a good experience. Plenty of beaches for picnics and rock skipping contests and a few challenging rapids to spice things up. Plan on 4 hours from arrival to departure.

This is a self guided trip, our experience went from fun to dangerous. The falls drop is dangerous especially at lower water levels, and should be monitored by professionals. The Dam drop is also extremely dangerous and should only be attempted by professionals. I would NOT recommend this to anyone unless they are experienced. We had an awful time.

This was a fun addition to our yearly trip to Utica. The scenery and bald eagles were awesome! I'd recommend going when the water is higher as most of it was very shallow and pretty tame. The large rapid featured in pictures is pretty much impossible to navigate unless you have a raft full of strong paddlers so expect to have to find a way to bail water out of your raft and have any belongings secured. The only complaint I have is that my life vest smelled horrible. I had to throw away my shirt as the smell wouldn't come out, even with multiple washings. I would do it again next year if the water was higher.

Fun time...be sure to check on river levels by calling ahead. Takes about 3-4 hrs for the trip. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend this river! People don't realize how awesome this tributary and the larger Starved Rock Pool (IL River) is. The Vermillion is under-recognized despite having good fishing, beautiful landscapes, and high gradient sections to avoid or attract people depending on the thrill level they're looking for. The nearby State Parks are nice, the local communities have much to offer, and it's nearby to many people interested in these types of experiences.

We called Wednesday June 07th regarding the rafting.
spoke with a lady and she said they weren't going to be open until 11am Saturday the 10th because they had a wedding reception at the location. and that we did not need reservations. This Saturday we packed up and go then decided to call on the way there. the guy we spoke with said theres no water in the river and that they are waiting for rain. How is there no water on the river? And if that is the case why is this place still open and why didn't the lady or the website say that?!? What a waste of my fckn time. These ppl are unprofessional. Thanks for ruining my birthday

The water levels were not checked, had me and my group not crashed we would have died when approaching the damn. Horrible place full of negligent back water idiots who have no value for the life of the people they send on this river. DO NOT COME HERE!!!
