A beautiful area of Loess Hills, great views however, the cabins are all in disrepair and it doesn't appear they're operable for rental anymore. So sad because it's a cool place with some trails.

Only hiked a little bit of the trails, but the view you get to see right after you park and walk up the hill just a few steps is very cool and worth a trip.

This was the 1st Iowa state park we ever visited. It had some amazing views of the Missouri River valley and loved to learn about the history of this place, how Lewis and Clark passed through here on their journey west!

Love all of the parks here in Iowa. Big or small, they all offer a great insight into history, nature, or a quiet respite from everyday business as usual. Great hiking and sites to see here. Spent some time tromping the trails and bird watching. Well worth your time to stop and check out the sites and sounds.

Had lunch and a great hike on the bridge trail...which ends at private property never reaching the bridge.

The flies were bad out in the woods when we were there in early July, but the camping was absolutely wonderful. Water and nice stalls, and plenty of space to spread out to run your generator.

Waubonsie State Park is beautiful this time of year. The grounds are nicely kept and so are the restrooms.
The view is spectacular.... The trees are all budding... You can See for miles and miles... I was an out-of-state car so I had to pay a little more than Nebraska residents pay... But it was definitely worth it.. a great place to take the family. A wonderful place for a. There is a shelter there in case of inclement weather.... I did not see a playground, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. And there are restrooms that are kept very clean... The park itself is just very litter free... And there is parking.... The drive up to the lookout is just beautiful... I highly recommend spending some time at Waubonsie State Park....

Very neat park. We hit up some of the trails and stayed in one of the cabins. There were deer running around every morning. Nice and quiet park with awesome views.
