Protocol Strength & Conditioning in Tucson is more than just a gym—it’s a community. The coaches are very knowledgeable and genuinely invested in your progress. They strike the perfect balance between challenging you and ensuring proper form to avoid injury.

I was looking for a personal trainer/class that would keep me accountable, fun, and have a good community. I found that in the Protocol and more. I had lifted prior but was never taught good technique and form and within weeks I noticed a difference in my strength. I joined early May and by October I had doubled my barbell numbers and competed at my first powerlifting meet! No matter your age or fitness level, The Protocol is for everyone. Can’t recommend it enough!

I’ve never been a gym person, but the Protocol isn’t your average gym. This is the place to go if you’re dealing with an injury, trying to counteract the effects of “chair life”, or simply looking to build strength and get in shape in a healthy well-rounded way without having to “become a gym person”. Jerry and his crew genuinely care about everyone who trains with them, taking the time to make sure everything you’re doing is working for your specific body while pushing you to achieve your goals and giving helpful tips to get you there. I highly recommend taking the one-on-one intro package, even if you don’t plan on staying at this gym. The skills and cues I’ve learned just in two months will help me maintain my body and the way I exercise in every application for what I hope is a lifetime. I can’t recommend them enough!

Why The Protocol? Because if there is something we struggle to understand, it’s how to adjust to our aging bodies. I came to The Protocol injured. I was a CrossFit fan that failed to match the workouts to my own new abilities. I was looking for a place that will teach me how to heal while still enjoying my competitive self in a group setting. The Protocol delivered and then some. Jerry and the coaches are all about attention to detail and mindful application. Jerry is a bottomless pit of knowledge and his business is his passion and expression. When you are seriously ready to tackle your wellness in a new way, The Protocol is your place. Waiting to get injured first, is optional.

Jerry and the team at The Protocol Strength & Conditioning are simply the best. It is apparent from day one that things are done differently in this gym. The focus on technique and form instead of pushing big weight and lots of reps means that you get a better and safer workout every time. Jerry is the best personal trainer that i have ever worked with. Couple that with the best fitness classes offered and it’s a great combination.

I highly recommend the Protocol. There is such a great sense of community and the small class sizes allow the highly trained coaches to give everyone attention. The coaches are ever ready to offer modifications to any exercises depending on a person's skill levels or physical limitations and they keep a careful eye on everyone's form to make sure moves are being done safely. Everyone is encouraged to be the best they can be.

Wow! I’m so glad I chose the Protocol to get started with my journey to a stronger and healthier me. I had no idea where to start with strength and conditioning; I just knew that in my 40s it was time to invest in my body’s health, strength and mobility under guidance from professionals. So, after reading all the amazing reviews I was really excited about this place. It has far exceeded any expectations I might have had. In fact, I can’t shut up about it to anyone who will listen! I’ve learned so much in just a couple weeks and look forward to each session, and leave feeling like that was a) challenging, b) fun, c) informative. Jerry and his team are so knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and passionate as they work with you where you are, paying close attention and explaining things so well. Before starting at the Protocol, there were things I thought I simply couldn’t do, because they hurt my back or knees. It turns out I can do them, with the proper form and attentive guidance from these pros! I never would’ve learned this trying to tackle my goals on my own. The Protocol is definitely a gem!

I went to Jerry for personal training and came away with an awesome plan to implement while in Oregon this summer. I'm confident with my new game plan I'll attain my strength and conditioning goals efficiently and safely. Plus, I also got an hour of personal rowing training with Kelly which has me eager to implement into my program. Both Jerry and Kelly led me through all the proper forms of each exercise helping me be aware of areas of weakness that need improvement. I'm looking forward to returning to Tucson in a few months in much better shape than when I left and to working with Jerry and his team to progress further. A+ rating from me!!
