It took about 20 minutes for someone to show up to the front desk when we arrived but he was friendly. A fairly new build so in good shape for now. It was built out of cheap materials and I don't see the newness lasting very long. The water is hard and the complimentary soap isn't made for that. The breakfast is pretty blah. There is a decent work out room. There is a pool that is tiny but the ph is good. Our TV stopped working the second day which turned out to be a common problem here. The rest of the staff is very friendly but I don't think we'll stay here again simply because the quality doesn't match the price.

This Rockwell sleepy little town has its all for a couple good days rest and scenery. The Fairfield on bayou rd is a perfect hotel to keep up your feet and get some rest. The GM and her staff are knowledgeable and more than willing to help you in any way they can, weather it's eating choices or places to see. They even have a bar and grill right next door the food delightful the atmosphere cheerful and the staff thoughtful. You can't go wrong with a reservation at the Fairfield inn and suites in Clearlake Iowa.

The rooms are just OK. I’ve slept on better hotel beds and the pillows are flat.
The rooms are so dry at night, in winter, with the heat only set at 65.
We woke up often during the night with dry noses and dry mouths. Our friends in a different room said his C-pap machine used almost its whole water reservoir in one night, due to the dryness.
The textured floor of the shower makes it hard for it to stay or look bright white.
The towels we had were not big, unlike another reviewer mentioned. And the doors to the rooms are super heavy to push open and you can hear other rooms’ doors closing.
The convenient location and the front desk staff on 1/25 were the good parts of our visit.

We stayed one night and had a very good experience. The lobby is clean and welcoming. Service was excellent upon arrival and checkout. I didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast host was very friendly and helpful in finding me a carton of milk. Room and bathroom were clean and well-stocked. Mattresses are average. Price is competitive for this area. This hotel is on the less congested (east) side of I-35 and noise wasn’t an issue. Judging from some negative reviews in previous year, it appears they’ve made necessary improvements. We plan to stay here for our next visit to Clear Lake.

Beautiful hotel, but it is fairly new. The hotel did not seem full and was very quiet, which I appreciated after a long day of travel. There is a very good restaurant/bar next door that I also gave a good review. I would definitely stay here again, especially with the hotel restaurant combination. I would plan my trip around staying here as I have done at other hotels or restaurants that I have liked.

This was our first time staying at the Fairfield Inn. Since the COVID pandemic, it "appears" that many hotels have stayed with the downsized crews. So, some hotels we have stayed at before, we wouldn't stay at now, because they never did increase their crews back to full force. Having said that, it certainly appeared that Fairfield is not faced with manpower problems. It was a pleasant stay in a pleasant room. The staff and breakfast were both pleasant. I would certainly recommend.

Attended for a wedding in the area. Great service and very clean. Breakfast was included and pretty good.

Had a slight issue with our A/C during the night, but service said they would get right on it after checking out.

Im a little bit low on my star rating for one reason. Mostly, i checked into my room and housekeeping never really clearned it. There was hair in my bath/show very disgusting and part of the bathroom look liked it was cleaned very well. I mentioned this issue at the front desk twice and they "Im sorry". I was told my rate was adjusted just bit but It hasn't. Everthing else was great like the room, the nice tv, the breakfast and hotel lobby. I would like someone to contact about a rate discount please!
