Not disability friendly!!!

My husband and I tried going on a lake cruise on The Lady of the Lake in Clear Lake, IA. There are not many community activities I can join in on. A lake cruise sounded like a fun time. The captain refused business to us because we didn't have a service dog certificate for my service dog, Oscar. I tried to inform him of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the fact there was no such official certificates issued. He still insisted there was such a law. We left disappointed and determined to refresh ourselves on both state and federal laws.

After reading the below websites I still couldn't find a law requiring such certificates.

He seemed genuine but I found he was lying. Grrrr!!!!

Fun ride with the fam. Get there decently early if it's a beautiful day as it's FCFS and you pay all on loading. Don't get in the captain's way as he may yell at ya. Drinks are cheap and the ride relaxing. Cut and dry no frills chill for an Iowa afternoon.

Took the 4:30pm tour on Clear Lake. The captain was knowledgable and entertaining as he explained the importance of several key landmarks and also touched upon the history of the lake. Took right about 90 minutes and the drinks were great and reasonably priced. This is a true paddle wheel boat, so it is definitely a must do when in the area.

We went on a Thursday evening. It was relaxing sitting on the top deck, drinking a beer and watching the sunset. The kids enjoyed it as well.

Had an absolutely wonderful time. Reasonable prices for the whole experience. Family friendly first and foremost but there are still good priced drinks for the adults to enjoy. Root beer on tap for the kids as well as some different snack options. The host and bartender were so nice!!!!! My kids ranging from 2-15 all enjoyed themselves equally.

Nice boat ride along lake shore, relaxing music, just the right amount of captain commentary, sells beverages and snacks. Good selection of seating.

Our family had such a nice time here. Perfect weather, busy day on the lake, and the guide was informative and funny too. The little kids all got to toot the boat horn, which was a highlight for them. The price is very reasonable and so we're snacks and drinks too. We'll probably go again this summer yet
