The Escape Gamebar - Atlanta, Georgia

I have never been to an escape room. The Escape Gamebar is more than an escape room. It’s a collection of several escape rooms, a cool bar, a big comfortable space to socialize and enjoy board games provided by the proprietor, a few video games, and a beautiful collection of well maintained pinball machines.

I was enticed by their monthly Monday night pinball tournament. Pinball has made a big resurgence in the last few years, and Escape Gamebar is quickly becoming one of the “places to go” for pinball in the Atlanta area.

For a $1 entry fee, players enjoy camaraderie and competition over three fun filled hours. Check out their website for upcoming events.

While I was there, I had two slices of pizza and four canned sodas. If you’ve been out lately, you know that even this small smorgasbord would probably set you back $20 or more, but not at the Escape Gamebar. My bill was $9 and the bartender, Jess, was fun, friendly, and attentive.

I took a little time while I was there and looked at the escape rooms. They all have different themes. The room based on Al Capone’s story was particularly intriguing! I will post another review after I try it out. I fully expect to have a great time while failing miserably!

My group did the Al Catraz room with Jess and Jordan both running the room. It was super fun! We got out in 42 minutes and both Jess and Jordan were super helpful. We enjoyed the puzzles and how immersive the setting was.

Had a great time playing pinball there. They have Deadpool, jaws, Godzilla, Jurassic park, and Stranger things. Just a heads up it’s on the second floor. Definitely worth a visit!

Good place to play some newer stern machines. There is a tv with the leaderboard for all machines there. The machines do need some tweaking though to play better: 1. Jaws is angled strongly to the left. This makes it impossible to hit the skill shots, makes some of the shots less clean, and makes the ball move eratically at low speeds. This made the game significantly less enjoyable. The tilt is pretty sensitive since a gentle nudge can give 1-2 dangers. 2. Jurrasic Park and Deadpool are angled slightly to the left, which had a very minor impact on the play, but overall they shot beautifully. 3. Stranger Things is hard to see because of reflections from the translite. Also, the hits on the creature often don't register. It's also a drain monster. It may not be leveled also. Costs: Jaws is $1.50 and the other machines are $1 per play, and no discount for multiple plays or higher card purchases. The worker there was very nice and the place was extremely clean.

We had really fun solving the puzzles and following the clues and were able to solve it 3 minutes earlier.

We did escape from Alcatraz and it was somewhat difficult but so fun. Ashley was a great game master and was very helpful without giving hints away easily. She also has great energy. The place is super cute too!!

We hosted a team building event here and from the feedback we received from our team it was a very successful event! Dan made the booking experience a breeze. The rooms were fun and the Speakeasy Room with the live actor was a hit with our team! We also did the facilitation workshop with Chad Hull. It was a great experience for our company. We would definitely do it again.

Had a super fun time here! Definitely one of my top fav escape rooms. Randall was AMAZING, such a great game master. A positive attitude goes a long way and Randall definitely made the day even brighter. 100% Exceeded expectations! Can’t wait to come back.
